FDA approves Adempas to treat pulmonary hypertension

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Adempas to treat adults with two forms of pulmonary hypertension. According to Mayo Clinic, pulmonary hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of your heart. It is a serious illness that becomes progressively worse and is sometimes fatal. Although pulmonary hypertension isn't curable, treatments are available that can help lessen symptoms and improve your quality of life.
